Hubble Operations – Testing New Procedures
Hubble Space Telescope engineers are gathered in the Operations Support Room as Systems Manager Morgan Van Arsdall points to a screen holding a mission timeline of all events scheduled during a test of new procedures for the spacecraft on April 16, 2019. Among the new procedures being tested is an automated routine that can detect whether the observatory is going to lose lock on its target before it happens, thus allowing earlier recovery and more science to be gathered.
