NASA Begins Switch to Backup Spacecraft Hardware
During a complex switch to the Hubble Space Telescope's backup hardware on July 15, 2021, NASA Operation Manager (NOM) Dave Haskins makes a phone call to update project management on the progress. Two other NOMs, Olivia Lupie and Mike Myslinski, discuss the current activites in the background. Due to pandemic precautions, a core team was present in the Hubble control center while the remainder of the team monitored and supported from home. The switch was performed to solve an ongoing problem with Hubble's payload computer, which monitors and instructs the instruments.
