This image provides context for Hubble’s observation of Caldwell 82 (NGC 6193). The image on the left is a ground-based image from a telescope at the European Southern Observatory (ESO) in Chile, and the image on the right is from Hubble’s Advanced Camera for Surveys (ACS). Energy from the two bright, O-type stars at the heart of the cluster are shaping the nearby clouds of dust and gas in the surrounding nebula, known as NGC 6188.
