NASA Heliophysics Education Activation Team

In this image of the Sun, the areas of greatest intensity appear almost white, while the darker red areas indicate less intensity.

NASA Heliophysics Education Activation Team, or NASA HEAT, is bringing NASA from the laboratory to learning spaces to inspire future scientists and spark breakthroughs in heliophysics. NASA HEAT does this by providing educational guidance and resources for educators, communicators, and learners of all ages to deepen their understanding of our Sun, its effects on Earth and the solar system. NASA HEAT’s mission is to increase heliophysics literacy and deepen public understanding about NASA Science by uniting existing NASA Science Mission Directorate (SMD) assets with educators, learners of all ages, and communities across the country.

NASA HEAT creates new heliophysics resources, collects and vets legacy resources, and connects resources to classroom concepts and current NASA missions. All of NASA HEAT's resources can be accessed through the Framework for Heliophysics Education and the Heliophysics Resource Database.
