CLPS is a new platform for accomplishing priority science investigations on and around the Moon. The scientific opportunities afforded by these lunar deliveries will produce a wealth of scientific data that must be calibrated, archived, and made readily accessible to the public. All data from NASA-sponsored payloads adhere to SMD’s Science Information Policy of being archived in a relevant, NASA-approved, public-facing data repository (e.g., the Planetary Data System, or PDS) as soon as practicable, but no later than six months after receipt on ground of that data. The first CLPS deliveries happen to coincide with NASA’s Year of Open Science in 2023, and the Lunar Discovery and Exploration Program (LDEP) looks forward to supporting NASA’s Open-Source Science Initiative with the influx of new data.

While data from each instrument will be archived in respective data repositories, this LDEP web page will strive to streamline public consumption by providing links to those repositories here in a central location. The links and relevant information available here on accessing public data will be organized by CLPS Task Order and instrument to offer a consistent user experience. Metadata, engineering data, telemetry, etc. from the vendor’s overall missions are not necessarily governed by SMD’s information policy but will be linked here as they become available.
