Amendment 47: B.11 H-FORT deferred to 2022

Heliophysics Flight Opportunities for Research and Technology (H-FORT; ROSES B.11) solicits relevant space and sub-orbital science and science-enabling investigations that use platforms including SmallSats (including CubeSats), Balloon Missions, and Hosted Rideshare Payloads, such as International Space Station (ISS)-attached payloads. The program encourages the development of technologies that will enable investigation of heliophysics science questions. Science-enabling investigations that primarily demonstrate a new technology must motivate the need for this technology by including specific science questions that the new technology can address.

Due to a shortfall of FY22 funds for this program, available funds will be used to continue existing H-FORT awards. Consequently, H-FORT is no longer solicited in ROSES-2021. However, it will be solicited in ROSES-2022, where it is anticipated that the due date for proposals will be summer of 2022.

On or about November 19, 2021, this Amendment to the NASA Research Announcement "Research Opportunities in Space and Earth Sciences (ROSES) 2021" (NNH21ZDA001N) will be posted on the NASA research opportunity homepage at https://solicitation.nasaprs.com/ROSES2021

Questions regarding B.11 H-FORT may be directed to Amy Winebarger at amy.r.winebarger@nasa.gov.
