Amendment 40: A.24 Weather and Atmospheric Dynamics Final Text and Due Dates

A.24 Weather and Atmospheric Dynamics (WEATHER) solicits proposals for participation in the North American Upstream Feature-Resolving and Tropopause Uncertainty Reconnaissance Experiment (NURTURE). Those selected will form a core science team to execute the next programmatic field campaign targeted for January and February 2026.

A.24 WEATHER solicits proposals for flight planning and campaign execution, based on the scientific objectives laid forth in the white paper posted under “Other documents” on the NSPIRES page for this program element. Proposals may include requests for meteorological forecasting and flight planning support, as well as modeling and other support capabilities that are in-line with the parameters and features laid forth in the white paper. Research proposals aiming only to exploit the data collected as part of the campaign are not solicited at this time. It is expected that research-only proposals will be solicited after datasets collected from NURTURE are freely and readily available to the research community. Instrument support proposals are not solicited under this element.

ROSES-2024 Amendment 40 releases final text and due dates for A.24 WEATHER. Notices of intent are requested by October 2, 2024, and proposals are due November 8, 2024.
